Ingredients
- 1 lb. bulk sausage
- 6 slices white bread, crust removed
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Longhorn cheese
- softened butter or margarine
- 5 eggs
- 2 c. half and half
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
Method
- Cook sausage over medium heat until done, stirring to crumble well; drain sausage on paper towels and set aside.
- Spread each slice of bread with butter; cut into cubes.
- Place bread cubes in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; sprinkle with sausage and top with cheese.
- Combine remaining ingredients; beat well and pour over mixture in baking pan.
- Chill at least 8 hours; remove from refrigerator.
- Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350°.
- If put into glass baking dish, check at 30 minutes.
- Serves 6.
