Ingredients
- 3 1/2-4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, divided
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. softened butter
- 3 Large eggs, room temperature
Method
- Thoroughly mix 1 1/4 c. flour, the sugar, salt, and undissolved yeast in a large bowl.
- Combine lowfat milk, water and butter in a saucepan - heat over low heat till liquids are hot.
- Add in to dry ingredients and beat 2 min (medium speed) with electric mixer.
- Add in Large eggs and 1 c. flour to make a thick batter.
- Beat at high speed for 2 min, then stir in sufficient flour to make a stiff batter.
- COVER - let rise 1 hour.
- Stir batter down and beat well.
- Then place into a greased 9 inch tube pan or possibly Bundt pan.
- COVER - let rise 1 hour.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 min, remove from pan and cold on wire rack.
