Ingredients

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 c. fine, dry bread crumbs
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/3 c. canned onion soup
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • remaining soup
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard

Method

  • Mix the first 6 ingredients.
  • Shape into 6 oval steak patties and brown well on all sides.
  • Sprinkle flour over meat.
  • Mix remaining ingredients for gravy (soup, ketchup, water, Worcestershire, Tabasco and mustard).
  • Pour over meat.
  • Cover and simmer 40 minutes.
