Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk, scalded
  • 5 c. all-purpose flour

Method

  • Put yeast
  • in
  • lukewarm
  • water;
  • scald milk.
  • Add sugar, salt and shortening;
  • cool to lukewarm.
  • Add 2 cups flour; beat well. Add eggs and yeast to milk and blend well; add remaining flour to make
  • soft
  • dough.
  • Turn
  • out on lightly floured board and knead. Shape rolls in greased baking pans.
  • Brush top with butter.
  • Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, 1 to 2 hours. Bake

  • for 12 to 15 minutes. This makes good cinnamon rolls.
