Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 5 c. flour

Method

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Cream butter and add sugar and salt.
  • Pour hot water over mixture and stir.
  • When dissolved, add egg and yeast mixture.
  • Add flour 1 cup at a time.
  • Place in refrigerator at least 8 hours before using.
  • Lightly knead and shape into rolls; allow to rise about 45 minutes.
  • Bake in a 450° oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
