Ingredients
- 2 lb. link sausage
- 2 to 3 onions, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 3 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 small bay leaf, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. basil
Method
- Brown sausage in large skillet.
- Remove from pan.
- Pour off drippings, reserving 1/4 cup.
- Brown onion and flour in reserved drippings.
- Add sausage and remaining ingredients.
- Heat to boiling.
- Pour into a 3-quart casserole dish or bean pot.
- Bake uncovered at 325° for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
