Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
  • 1 lb. pkg. brown sugar
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the chopped pecans over the bottom of pan; set aside.
  • Combine sugars, butter and shortening; cream until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each.
  • Sift dry ingredients.
  • Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla, then fold in remaining 1 cup pecans.
