Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 lb. marshmallows
  • 5 qt. popped corn
  • 1/2 lb. roasted peanuts
  • 1 lb. small gumdrops (mixed colors)
  • gumdrop flowers (optional)

Method

  • Combine butter and marshmallows in Dutch oven; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted.
  • Add popcorn, peanuts and gumdrops, stirring until blended.
  • Press mixture into well buttered 10-inch tube pan until top is level all around.
  • Chill until firm.
  • Invert cake onto serving plate. Garnish with gumdrop flowers, if desired.
  • Use an electric knife to slice as thin slices cannot be made easily with a knife.
