- 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 16 oz. drained sauerkraut (Bavarian style)
- 2 handfuls egg noodles
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- shredded Cheddar cheese
Method
- Brown ground beef with chopped onion.
- Drain well.
- Layer 1/2 in casserole dish.
- Top with drained sauerkraut.
- Top with other half of meat and onion.
- Sprinkle egg noodles on top (uncooked). Combine soups and milk and spread over mixture.
- Cover and cook in 350° oven for 1/2 hour.
- Uncover.
- Sprinkle with 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese and cook for another 1/2 hour.
