Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 16 oz. drained sauerkraut (Bavarian style)
  • 2 handfuls egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • shredded Cheddar cheese

Method

  • Brown ground beef with chopped onion.
  • Drain well.
  • Layer 1/2 in casserole dish.
  • Top with drained sauerkraut.
  • Top with other half of meat and onion.
  • Sprinkle egg noodles on top (uncooked). Combine soups and milk and spread over mixture.
  • Cover and cook in 350° oven for 1/2 hour.
  • Uncover.
  • Sprinkle with 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese and cook for another 1/2 hour.
