Ingredients

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 2-1/4 cups Flour
  • 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cloves
  • 3/4 cups Light Molasses
  • 3/4 cups Vegetable Oil
  • 3/4 cups Water
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1/3 cups Water

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour bundt pan.
  • Combine all cake ingredients; blend at low speed until moistened. Beat for three minutes at medium speed. Pour into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Remove cake from oven. Prick every inch deeply with a fork. In a small saucepan, heat topping ingredients until butter is melted. Spoon hot topping over hot cake. Cool upright in pan for 30 minutes; turn onto serving plate.
