Ingredients

  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 med. green pepper, minced
  • 1 sm. onion, minced
  • 1/2 c. fresh minced mushrooms
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasonings
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 6 English muffins, split and toasted
  • 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Brown sausage in skillet; drain any excess fat.
  • Add in peppers, onion, mushrooms, seasonings, and garlic; cook 2 min.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and simmer, uncovered, for 10 min.
  • Top each muffin half with 2 Tbsp.
  • meat sauce, sprinkle with cheese.
  • Broil till cheese melts and filling is warm.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Yields 12 servings.
