Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (1-1/8 lb.) yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (3 oz.) vanilla instant pudding
  • 1/2 cup ice water
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup Irish whisky
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup Irish Whisky

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease 1 bundt or tube pan.
  • Blend all the cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  • Beat until well blended.
  • Pour batter into pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • Set on wire rack to cool.
  • When cool, glaze with the following mixture.
  • Whisky Glaze: Melt butter in saucepan.
  • Stir in sugar and water.
  • Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the second measure of Irish whisky.
  • Pour over unmolded cake.
