Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. shortening or oleo
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. persimmon pulp

Method

  • Set oven temperature at 350°.
  • Grease and flour tube pan.
  • Mix and cream the shortening, eggs and sugar.
  • Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.
  • Add persimmon; beat well. Stir in nuts.
  • Pour into pan; bake for 1 1/2 hours.
