Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup Karo syrup (use Karo-it works the best)
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 12 cup butter
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Cook the white sugar, Karo syrup and salt just until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is clear.
  • Do not boil.
  • Add the peanut butter and Rice Krispies and mix well.
  • Spread into a jelly roll pan.
  • Heat the stick of butter, brown sugar and the milk until the butter is melted.
  • Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and enough powdered sugar to make it spreadable.
  • Ice bars and let cool.
