Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 c. enriched, all-purpose flour
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. tub margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water (120~ to 130~)
  • egg substitute equivalent to 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. dry oatmeal
  • 12 dried apricot halves
  • 12 pitted prunes
  • 16 walnut halves
  • 1/3 c. tub margarine, melted
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed

Method

  • Combine 2 cups flour, yeast,
  • sugar and salt in a large bowl. Add margarine and water and mix well with electric mixer.
  • Add egg substitute and 1 cup flour, beating 1 minute on high speed.
  • Stir in oatmeal and enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto lightly floured board and knead 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Cover with towel and let rest 20 minutes.
