Ingredients
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. self-rising flour
Method
- Cream the shortening and sugar together with a spoon.
- Beat well.
- Add milk, egg and vanilla to this.
- Add flour.
- In a piece of wax paper, roll this dough up and let chill in refrigerator for a few hours.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet (cut in slices) and cook in oven at 350° until cookies are browned.
- Before baking you can sprinkle candies on top for decoration (red and green sprinkles especially for Christmastime).
