Ingredients

  • 3 to 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 10 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, 1/4 cup sugar, salt, 2 tablespoons butter, egg and 1 cup hot water in mixer bowl.
  • Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
  • Stir in remaining 2 cups flour.
  • Knead on floured surface 1 minute.
  • Roll 7 x 15-inch rectangle.
  • Spread mixture of 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup butter over dough. Roll as for jelly roll.
  • Slice.
  • Combine cream, brown sugar and walnuts in 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Place rolls in prepared pan. Let rise for 35 to 45 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Bake at 400° for 25 to 35 minutes or until brown.
  • Cool for 15 minutes before inverting on serving tray.
  • Makes 16 servings.
