Ingredients

  • 4 medium thick lamb or pork chops or chicken pieces
  • 1 c. raw rice
  • 1 can soup (consomme or cream of chicken, mushroom or asparagus soup)
  • favorite spices (such as marjoram, thyme, garlic or savory)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 ripe tomatoes or canned tomatoes, drained
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. olive or vegetable oil

Method

  • Brown the meat in the oil.
  • While browning, spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Put the rice in the bottom.
  • Over this, lay the sliced vegetables.
  • Next, layer the meat.
  • Over the meat you can place some more of the sliced vegetables.
  • Mix the soup with 1 can of water and pour over the meat and vegetables.
  • Cover and let it fend for itself in a 350° oven for 1 hour.
