Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, divided
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 sq. baking chocolate
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 c. confectionary sugar
  • 4 sq. dark chocolate semi-sweet
  • 2 c. fine graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. coconut
  • 2 Tbsp. instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 Tbs. milk

Method

  • Put 1/2 cup butter, sugar, unsweetened chocolate, and vanilla in top of double boiler until blended.
  • Add egg and cook 5 minutes, stirring.
  • Add crumbs, nuts and coconut.
  • Press firmly into buttered 9x9x2- inch pan.
  • Cool and chill 15 minutes.
  • Cream 1/2 cup butter, beat in pudding mix and milk.
  • Add confectionary sugar gradually and beat until smooth.
  • Spread over first layer. Chill 15 minutes.
  • Melt chocolate in 1 tablespoon butter over low heat. Spread over layer and chill till firm.
  • Cut into 1 inch squares.
  • Keep in refrigerator.
  • May be frozen.
  • Makes 81 pieces.
