Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 heads cabbage, shredded
- 1 bunch celery, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
Method
- Combine sugar, vinegar and water and boil 3 minutes.
- Cool. Add salt to shredded cabbage and let stand for 1 hour.
- Add rest of ingredients to cabbage and pour cooled liquid mixture over the slaw.
- Refrigerate.
- Lasts 3 weeks in refrigerator.
