Ingredients

  • 1 c. softened margarine
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. instant coffee crystals
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
  • extra fine granulated sugar or powdered sugar

Method

  • Cream the first 3 ingredients. Stir together flour, cocoa, coffee and salt. Gradually beat dry mix into creamed mix. Stir in nuts and cherries. Chill 1 hour. Bake on ungreased sheet at 325° for 20 minutes. While warm, dust with fine sugar. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
