Ingredients
- 3/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup or 1/8 c. corn syrup and 1/8 c. molasses
- 2 (1 oz.) sq. Baker's chocolate, melted or 6 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar (to roll cookies in)
Method
- Cream together shortening, sugar and egg.
- Stir in syrup and chocolate.
- Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon into creamed mixture.
- Shape dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll in sugar.
- Place balls on ungreased baking sheet, 3 inches apart. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
