- 1 c. soft bread crumbs
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. mace
- 1/8 tsp. allspice
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 c. white wine
- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 2 tsp. chopped parsley
Method
- Soak bread crumbs in milk 5 to 10 minutes in a bowl.
- Add beef, egg, onion, spices and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
- Shape into balls the size of a walnut.
- Heat butter in large pan and brown meat on all sides.
- Add flour to drippings and stir.
- Add soup, wine, evaporated milk and remaining 1 teaspoon salt.
