- 1 can green beans, drained, or 2 1/2 c. cooked beans
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. white wine
- 2 Tbsp. fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 c. chopped almonds or pecans (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Melt butter; stir in flour.
- Add soup and wine; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth.
- Add green beans and almonds; mix well and season to taste.
- Turn into a greased casserole; sprinkle with crumbs and cheese.
- Bake at 375° for 20 minutes or until hot and lightly browned.
