- 4 c. shredded cabbage
- 3 to 4 carrots, shredded or chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 to 4 stalks celery
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard (optional)
Method
- Mix vegetables in large bowl.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup oil over the vegetables.
- Stir in and let set 30 minutes. Boil the vinegar, sugar, water and seasonings for 1 minute and pour hot liquid over vegetables.
- Refrigerate.
- Will keep in refrigerator quite a while.
- Stir occasionally to marinate.
