Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 1/2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bits

Method

  • Combine softened cream cheese and 1/3 cup sugar; mix well, until blended.
  • Add 1 egg; mix well.
  • Combine margarine, water and unsweetened chocolate in saucepan; bring to boil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in flour and 2 cups sugar.
  • Add 2 eggs, sour cream, baking soda and salt; mix well.
  • Pour into greased and floured 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Spoon cheese mixture over chocolate mixture.
  • Cut through batter with knife for marble effect.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate bits.
  • Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cut into squares.
