Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (32 oz.) can Prego sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 lb. cottage cheese
  • 1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2 tsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 small box manicotti noodles
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

Method

  • Brown beef and onion, drain.
  • Add Prego sauce.
  • In bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
  • Boil manicotti noodles in salted water for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add noodles carefully so as not to break; drain gently.
  • After noodles cool, fill with cheese mixture (egg, cottage cheese and Parmesan).
  • In baking dish, pour thin layer of sauce.
  • Arrange filled noodles over sauce.
  • Make sure noodles do not touch.
  • Pour remaining sauce over noodles.
  • Top with remaining Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover and bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
