Ingredients

  • macaroni
  • 1 tsp. margarine, melted
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dried mustard
  • 3 c. grated sharp cheese
  • 1 c. milk

Method

  • Boil macaroni until tender and drain.
  • Stir in melted margarine and beaten egg.
  • Add cheese, leaving enough to sprinkle on top.
  • Pour into buttered casserole dish.
  • Mix mustard and salt with 1 teaspoon hot water; add milk, then pour mixture over casserole.
  • Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes until custard is set and top is a crusty golden brown.
