Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 c. butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. dried whole thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. hot sauce

Method

  • Saute garlic in butter until tender.
  • Add flour and stir until smooth.
  • Add water, lemon juice, salt, sugar, thyme, pepper and hot sauce.
  • Stir well.
  • Cook over medium heat until thickened.
  • Allow to cool, then use as a basting sauce for beef, pork or chicken.
