Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
  • 1/2 c. mild taco sauce
  • 2 small avocados
  • 2 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream (12 oz.)
  • 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
  • 1 (2 1/4 oz.) can sliced ripe olives
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced green onions
  • 1 1/2 c. finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • tortilla chips for dipping

Method

  • Combine beans and taco sauce in a small saucepan.
  • Mix well. Heat thoroughly.
  • Spread in bottom of a shallow serving dish. Peel, seed and mash avocados.
  • Blend in lime juice, oil and garlic salt. Spread over bean layer.
  • Layer next 6 ingredients over avocado layer.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.
  • Makes about 12 to 16 appetizer servings.
