Ingredients
- 1 9 inch pie crust unbaked
- 4 slices bacon
- 1/4 cup onions chopped
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 3 eggs slightly beaten
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- pinch nutmeg
- 2 cups sharp cheese grated (if you use mild cheese, add some salt)
Method
- Fry bacon until crisp.
- Remove from pan and chop.
- Discard all but 2 tbsp grease.
- Saute onion in this until tender.
- Heat milk, add slightly beaten eggs.
- Mix with remainder of ingredients.
- Pour into pie crust.
- Preheat oven to 425.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Turn the temp. down to 350 and continue baking until set and lightly browned on top, about 35- 45 minutes.
