Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. oil or drippings
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 Spanish onion, sliced fine
  • 1 lb. ground meat, beef
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz.)
  • 1 c. thick tomato puree
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. A.1. sauce
  • 1/4 lb. grated Italian cheese
  • 1 lb. spaghetti noodles

Method

  • Heat oil or fat in large skillet.
  • Add finely chopped garlic, green pepper and onion.
  • Cook without browning 5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef; mix well and cook on high heat until lightly brown. Add tomato paste, tomato puree and boiling water.
  • Simmer 1 hour or longer (if desired).
  • Add seasonings last 15 minutes of cooking.
  • Serve over hot cooked spaghetti.
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese.
