Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter softened
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 c. C & H light brown sugar, divided
  • 3 eggs, well-beaten
  • 1/4 c. Gold Medal flour
  • 2 c. C & H dark brown sugar
  • 2 c. shredded coconut
  • 2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. C & H powdered sugar, sifted

Method

  • Mix together butter, 2 c. sifted flour and 1 c. light brown sugar.
  • Spread evenly in jellyroll pan and bake for 12 minutes at 350.
  • Cool.
  • Mix remaining ingredients, except powdered sugar and pour on cooled crust.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes or until slightly set.
  • Do not overbake.
  • Cool thoroughly.
  • When totally cool, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and cut into small squares.
