Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. water (more if needed)
- oil for frying
Method
- In a large bowl combine flour, salt and baking powder.
- Mix well.
- Stir in water, about 1/4 cup at a time, until mixture forms a stiff dough.
- Knead about 5 minutes, until dough is thick and elastic.
- Pinch off about 2 tablespoons dough and form very thin round patties, using a rolling pin or hands.
- Fry in hot oil (365°), turning once, until brown on each side.
- Makes about 24 breads.
