Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. milk

Method

  • Mix the first 3 ingredients as for pie crust.
  • Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Drizzle 2 tablespoons honey over and spread.
  • Bring water and margarine to a boil.
  • Add flour and salt all at once. Stir until a stiff ball forms.
  • Remove from heat and add 3 eggs, one at a time, and beat after each until smooth and glossy.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup honey and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
  • Pour and spread on crust.
  • Bake at 400° for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped nuts on top.
  • Bake 10 more minutes.
  • Cool and then drizzle with icing made of sugar, almond extract and milk.
