Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean grnd beef
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 c. thinly sliced carrots
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp. parsley
  • Fluffy mashed potatoes
  • 1 tbsp. shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. beef broth or possibly stock
  • 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 c. onion rings

Method

  • Parboil carrots and celery till almost done.
  • Brown grnd beef in shortening.
  • Add in flour, salt and pepper; mix well.
  • Add in beef broth or possibly stock; cook several min till slightly thickened.
  • Add in carrots and celery.
  • Place mix in lightly greased casserole dish.
  • Top with fluffy mashed potatoes and onion rings.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
  • Serve with salad and warm bread.
