Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. boiling water
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix shortening in boiling water. Add buttermilk.
- Mix soda, salt and sugar with the flour. Add flour gradually into wet ingredients. Place in greased bowl until double in size.
- Shape into rolls and place in warm spot to raise again.
- Bake in a 350° oven until golden brown, 35 to 45 minutes.
