Ingredients

  • 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 medium bananas
  • 2 cups light dulce de leche or 2 cups light vanilla ice cream
  • 14 cup caramel ice cream topping
  • 14 cup chopped pecans or 14 cup walnuts

Method

  • In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter with brown sugar, about 1 minute.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes to cool; brush on bananas, reserving any extra mixture.
  • Grill or broil bananas, brushing frequently with remaining brown sugar mixture, for 8 minutes or until bananas are heated and lightly golden.
  • Cut warm bananas into 2-inch chunks, then divide among 4 serving dishes.
  • Top with ice cream, drizzle with caramel topping and garnish with pecans.
