Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 kg minced fish
  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tablespoons matzo meal
  • 2 eggs and 1 egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon seafood, spice
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Curry Sauce
  • 3/4 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon peppercorn
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apricot jam
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder

Method

  • To make the sauce:.
  • Dissolve the curry powder in the water.
  • Add all other ingredients and bring to the boil for approximately 10 minutes.
  • To make the fried fish:.
  • Mince fish, carrots and onion.
  • Add all other ingredients.
  • Shape into balls and dip into additional matzo meal.
  • Fry the fish until golden.
  • Place fried fish in serving dish and pour over the sauce.
  • Refrigerate until serving.
  • Serve at room temperature or cold.
