Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh green beans
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Wash beans, trim ends and remove strings.
  • Snap if desired or leave whole.
  • Arrange beans in a steaming rack above boiling water.
  • Cover and cook 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt margarine and add garlic and mushrooms.
  • Cook until mushrooms are tender, stirring constantly.
  • Add beans and remaining ingredients to mushrooms.
  • Cook 3 minutes more.
