Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/4 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 large can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 to 6 tsp. Gebhardt chili powder (if possible)
  • 3 to 6 tsp. hot salsa or picante

Method

  • Add salt to meat; then fry meat.
  • Pour off excess grease. Lightly coat meat with flour to absorb all grease.
  • Add chili powder and mix.
  • Add tomatoes, onion and kidney beans.
  • Add water and salsa or picante to chili.
  • Simmer for hours until done.
  • Stir periodically.
  • No grease on chili!
