Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 (4oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces
  • 1 (20 oz.) can gluten steaks
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 c. sour cream

Method

  • Saute onion in oil.
  • Add mushrooms and simmer for 5 minutes, reserving mushroom liquid.
  • Remove onions and mushrooms from pan. Dip steaks in beaten egg, then in bread crumbs and saute in oil. Place alternate layers of steaks, onions and mushrooms in buttered casserole.
  • Mix liquid from steaks with mushroom liquid and sour cream; pour over casserole.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
