Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. pears, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Cream sugar and oil; add eggs one at a time and beat well. Sift flour, soda, salt and cinnamon and add to sugar mixture.
  • Add vanilla, pears and pecans.
  • This will be a thick batter.
  • Pour into greased and floured loaf pan or Bundt pan and bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Serve with whipped topping.
  • (You can substitute apples for pears.)
