Ingredients

  • 6 c. sliced apples
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinammon
  • dash of salt
  • 2 tb. butter
  • 1 box ready made pie crust

Method

  • Use a rolling pin to spread out the pie crusts to fit pie dish
  • Place one crust in pie dish, pierce with a fork all around and bake until slightly brown
  • Remove from oven
  • Peel, core and slice apples into a large bowl
  • Stir together flour, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
  • Mix with apples.
  • Pour apple mixture into baked pie crust and dot with butter.
  • Cover with top crust.
  • Pierce top crust with knife for steam to escape and brush lightly with milk and sprinkle a little sugar on top.
  • Cover the edges of crust only with tinfoil to prevent burning.
  • Bake 40-50 min or until crust is golden and apples are soft when pierced with a knife.
