Ingredients
- 2 slices whole wheat bred
- 1 slice Muenster, Swiss, Monterey Jack or American cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp. butter or margarine
Method
- Make a sandwich with the bread and cheese, trimming cheese to neatly fit bread if necessary.
- Beat egg lightly in shallow dish. Dip sandwich into egg, turning bread to coat both sides.
- Fry sandwich in butter in skillet, over medium heat, until lightly browned on both sides, about 1 minute.
- Gently press down sandwich as it cooks to melt cheese.
- Serve immediately or wrap in aluminum foil to eat on the run within 30 minutes.
