Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. onions, sliced really thin
- 4 c. beef broth (bouillon is great)
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 6 slices toasted, thick sliced bread
- 1 c. Swiss cheese
Method
- Using large pan, saute onions in butter until golden brown and tender.
- Add beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and a dash of pepper.
- Bring to boil and reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Cool.
- Put into blender or mixer and beat until smooth. Place bread in bottom of bowl.
- Pour heated cheese mixture over bread.
- Serve hot and garnish with chopped green onions.
