Ingredients
- 2/3 c. Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. plain yogurt
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. chopped basil
Method
- Hold aside 2 tablespoons of cheese.
- Blend remaining dry ingredients together.
- Hold aside 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cut remaining 7 tablespoons of butter into dry mixture to form coarse crumbs.
- Stir in basil.
- Add yogurt, until dough clings together in lumps.
- Form a ball with your hands; knead on a board until dough holds together.
- Roll dough into a log form; slice to make 7 equal pieces.
- Place one piece of dough in the center of a buttered 8-inch round cake pan.
- Surround center piece with remaining pieces evenly.
- Brush with reserved butter; sprinkle with reserved cheese.
- Bake at 400° until golden brown.
