Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil, Divided
- 1/2 whole Onions, Diced
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Sugar
- 4 slices Baguette
- 1/2 cups Goat Cheese
- 2 whole Dried Calmyra Figs, Sliced
Method
- 1.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat and when oil is hot, toss diced onions in.
- 2.
- Add the salt and sugar to the onions and cook until golden brown, then remove from heat and set aside.
- Take care not to make the pan too hot which can burn the onions.
- 3.
- While the onions are cooking, drizzle the other 1 tablespoon of olive oil over top of the baguette slices.
- Then place in an oven at 375 degrees F until browned.
- 4.
- Once the baguette slices are ready and browned, take them out of the oven and spoon carmelized onions on top.
- Divide the onions evenly among all slices.
- 5.
- Then, spoon goat cheese over the onions (at this point you can opt to place the baguette slices back in the oven to broil at 500 degrees F until the goat cheese is bubbly and browned watch carefully!)
- 6.
- Finally, top with a slice of dried calmyra fig.
- Enjoy!
