Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3/4 c. sugar or equivalent
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 3/4 to 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. fruit

Method

  • Melt margarine in 1-quart size casserole in oven.
  • Mix sugar, flour and milk.
  • Pour batter into melted margarine.
  • Spoon fruit over top.
  • Use either small can of sliced fruit with syrup or fresh fruit with water and sugar added to make 2 cups.
  • Add spice to fruit, if desired.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
