Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips

Method

  • Combine flour, soda, salt and cocoa.
  • Set aside.
  • In a large bowl blend sugars.
  • Add butter and beat well.
  • Then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • Add dry ingredients and chips and blend at low speed until combined.
  • Drop dough by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1/2-inch apart. Bake 21 to 23 minutes at 300°.
  • Transfer to a cookie rack.
